BLACK SATELLITES ASSISTANT COACH TALKS UP IVORY COAST DEFEAT

The Assistant Coach of the Black Satellites of Ghana Augustine Evans Adotey has spoken up following his side’s 1-0 loss against the Ivory Coast, staining their morale in the process. Augustine has been in touch with the team responsible for Communications for the Ghana Football Association in their ongoing WAFU campaign.

The Satellites had already put a foot forward in the tournament following their 1-0 victory over Nigeria as they made it to the semi-finals but their hopes of winning the title were daunted as they lost the following game against Ivory Coast by the same scoreline.

Augustine during the interview said that just before the Ivory Coast defeat, he had a chat with a friend of his who is also a coach but works abroad. He said they both talked about how his Ghana side were not playing so well but managing to take all three points.

The pair continued by analyzing how to rectify the situation as they also looked into the game against Nigeria. According to Augustine, before were criticizing the team’s performance they out up against Nigeria even though they ended up winning the tie.

He then adds that he is always looking to bring up new ways with which his team can play and win games. However, he expressed his delight that despite the result, his team made it through to the next round and insisted that from their current state, he will be looking to ensures that he does everything within his power to get his team to play better football and to win.

Augustine also spoke about his team’s lack of creativity and how they had not been creating enough chances of late. He said it is still an objective for them and they are working on that aspect too.
