Third time was lucky for Victor 'Isildur1' Blom – as the Swede took down Isaac 'philivey2694' Haxton for a cool $500,000.

Looking back at how close the two previous encounters between Blom and Haxton – the SuperStar Showdown matches – were, the third match-up was anticipated to be a drawn out affair. Both players brought $500,000 to the battle on PokerStars.

On the first day of play, Saturday, Victor Blom won $198,000 from the skilled American. Sunday he took down $82,000 – and yesterday he got the remaining $218,000 and finally defeated Haxton.

"It feels good. It was a tough game," Blom said afterward to PokerStarsBlog.

"Haxton played good as usual. Maybe he played a bit too passive."

Monday saw a total of 1,396 hands played and during the 3 days of the match-up
a total of 5,030 hands were played. Total time of play was just under 12 hours.

That equals an hourly rate of $40,000 for the 21-year-old Swede.
