Lots of Asian "fish" for Ivey and Dwan
More than 25 players have signed up for "Manila Millions" - the first super high roller tournament to be held in Asia.
Three days before the start of the super high roller tournament in the Philippines the list of participants has grown to 25 players. Each will put down a massive HKD$1,000,000 - the same as USD$129,000!
When plans of the event were revealed last week, Phil Ivey and Tom "durrrr" Dwan were cast as the main attraction points. That seemed to work just fine, because as we speak the total prize pool is at USD$3,200,000 - thus making it the biggest tournament in Asia ever.
According to the event organizers many of the participants are business men from Hong Kong, China, Malaysia and Singapore - most of them anonymous. We do know however that the following will participate:
Chris Parker ( Founder of Asian Poker Tour )
Winfred Yu ( Poker Manager at Poker King Club in Macau )
It's rumored that both Sam Trickett and Jonathan Duhamel are very interested in playing and we'll keep you posted if we hear something concrete.
