ElkY before $1M tournament: "I don't think about the money"
Highstakes Poker
Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier is one of the pro's playing in this summer's million-dollar-tournament, The Big One for One Drop. He doesn't think about the gigantic buy-in.
In a month's time we'll witness the biggest tournament ever to be held. Guy Laliberté is hosting the Big One for One Drop tournament in Las Vegas with the buy-in set at astronomical $1,000,000.
The huge buy-in will probably scare most people, but Team PokerStars Pro Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier isn't that bothered with it:
“I’m lucky because I don’t think about the money too much, I really play for the love of the game, but when you’re on the bubble it’s hard not to think about it,” ElkY tells PokerListings.com in a recent interview.
Even if money is not that important he has to admit that the bubble will be sick.
“This bubble ( at EPT Monte Carlo) was €300k and that’s the biggest I’ve ever played, so a $2 million bubble is going to be sick,” he says.
"ElkY" does feel that the bubble can be useful - if you're cool enough:
“Bluffs are definitely going to work a lot better in this event. People won’t want to bust,” says Grospellier.
The Big One for One Drop will kick off on July 1st, 2012 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
