Kovalchuk wins - and becomes first Ukrainian with 2 WSOP bracelets
Oleksii Kovalchuk was unstoppable yesterday. The Ukrainian took his 2nd bracelet when he won the $2,5K Mixed-Split Seven Card Stud/Omaha.
Around the same time last year 22-year-old Oleksii Kovalchuk won his first golden bracelet when he took the $2,500 Six-Handed No-Limit Hold'Em event.
This summer the young man from the Ukrainian capitol of Kiev is at it again - winning bracelets and becoming the first player from the Ukraine with two wins at the WSOP.
On his way to the title he defeated former Player of the Year Jeff Lisandro, George Danzer, Bryan Devonshire, Allen Bari and famous WSOP commentator Norman Chad.
The winner's title was followed by a cash prize of $228,014.
