Oliver Speidel hot in Asia
Australian Oliver Speidel is at the top of his game at APT Philippines after day 1A and 1B. Only Canadian Alan Engel has more chips than the 2012 Aussie Millions winner as the remaining 137 players get ready for day 2.
Australian pro Oliver Speidel is back in Manila where in December of last year he won the Manny Pacquiao World Event. That victory started what can only be described as a hot tournament streak for the Aussie. After that he's won Aussie Millions Main Event for $1,704,000 and he has hit three final tables cashing in another $83,000 in the process.
And now he's back in Manila where he's playing the $2,700 Main Event at APT Phillippines. 120 players showed up for day 1A and more than half were gone when play stopped. Seidel was the one with the most chips.
Another 134 players registered for day 1B, bringing the total prize pool up to $615,950. Alan Engel did a marvelous job and took over the tournament chip lead with his 98,900 chip stack. Speidel has 94,325 chips in second place.
