It was Phil Ivey all along!
Gossip
It's been a mystery for a long time: Who's behind the nick 'RaiseOnce' on PokerStars? Guess what - it's been confirmed to be Phil Ivey, as many people speculated all along.
If Wickedchopspoker.com is to be believed, then Phil's the guy. And looking at the results of 'RaiseOnce' it's quite feasible that indeed Ivey is the player behind the screen.
'RaiseOnce' has been playing havoc at the PokerStars' high stakes cashgames and in their biggest tournaments. According to highstakesdb.com and officialpokerrankings.com ‘RaiseOnce’ has so far earned more than $1,000,000.
Rumors about the player's identity have been flying around for years – and already in 2010 high stakes shark Matt ‘ADZ124’ Marafioti claimed that 'RaiseOnce' actually was the American super star. The claim was never verified even though lots of clues were pointing in the direction of Ivey.
With wickedchopspoker.com confirming the discovery it looks pretty darn certain – as in the past they've been known to have extremely reliable sources.
If ever there will be an official confirmation remains to be seen as that would put Ivey in the awkward situation of admitting to playing with the biggest competitor to Full Tilt Poker, a company he's co-owned and fronted.
